The mission of Mary’s Touch is to remind us of the grace and unconditional love that Mother Mary brings to us and the world.

Mary’s Touch outreach programs extend our Blessed Mother's "Yes." They allow us to continue her work of bringing Love into this world...by affirming life, by assisting those who help others, and by engaging in partnership with those who promote life-giving ministries.

Mary’s Touch outreach programs include the Mary's Touch Ministry at Emmaus Catholic Church, "Mary's Legacy" and "Through the Eyes of a Child."

Mary's Touch Ministry was formed at Emmaus Catholic Church in April 2008. This ministry extends the work of Mary’s Touch and Mary’s Touch outreach programs to the parish level. The primary focus of Mary’s Touch Ministry is to promote the Mary’s Touch radio programs, to reach out to the poor and homeless, to provide a forum and creative support for charities, and to assist in planning avenues for outreach. Additionally, the Mary’s Touch Ministry works with the Rosary Ministry in distributing handmade Rosaries (which are available free of charge upon request). Other activities of the ministry include organizing book discussions, providing Mary-related lecture and discussion information, and assisting parochial schools and faith formation groups in accomplishing their fundraising goals.

Pat Thompson was named the Director for Mary’s Touch Ministry for Emmaus Catholic Church..

She brings a wealth of experience to Mary’s Touch. She served five years as the Director of Religious Education in parishes in the Diocese of Houston, as well as over nine years as the Family Life Director for the Diocese of Austin. She has been a spiritual director for over 20 years, and she and her husband, Richard (who also volunteers his time and talents to Mary’s Touch) have served in premarriage and marriage ministries (including Natural Family Planning and Engaged Encounter) for over 25 years.

Additionally, Pat has taught at the Catholic middle school and university levels. In the private sector, Pat served as chief executive and worked in sales and marketing for several printing businesses. Her special talents lie in program development and training. She is a “people person” who loves serving our Lord and His Mother, and we are thrilled that she has volunteered to share her gifts with Mary’s Touch. Through "Mary's Legacy" we share information about activities and events that are sponsored by organizations and individuals dedicated to life. We also provide information to the Catholic radio stations playing Mary's Touch so they can promote pro-life fundraising events. Cheri Lomonte kicked off the Mary's Legacy campaign by featuring the Gabriel Project and Zonia Grace from St. Mary’s Cathedral, Austin, TX as her honored guest at a fundraiser/birthday party that was celebrated in April, 2007. Currently, "Mary's Legacy" is working to provide Marypods (MP3 players with a selection of Mary's Touch programs) to the homeless in Austin, TX.

"Through the Eyes of a Child," provides children with an opportunity to share their own personal stories about Mary. The children’s stories we collect are used in the Mary’s Touch radio program and, along with their drawings, are used on the Mary’s Touch Web site. They are also being compiled into a book that will be published later this year. Sales of The Healing Touch of Mary Through the Eyes of a Child will further assist in underwriting the production costs of the Mary's Touch radio show. At the same time, "Through the Eyes of a Child" assists parochial schools and faith formation groups in addressing their fundraising challenges. Stories and art collected from St. Theresa's School in Austin, TX and Immaculate Conception School in Fort Smith, AR were used to create booklets for each of the schools. Students were given copies of the books, and extras were provided to the schools for fundraising. Additionally, Cheri Lomonte visited the schools that participated in the program, where she gave talks and did book signings, sharing the proceeds with the parishes to further assist their fundraising efforts.
